1stGenYale hosted our fifth annual Career Networking Mixer for Students & Alumni on November 18, 2020 – virtually!
Our career networking mixer is designed especially for Yale students, many of whom are among the first in their families to attend college and who come from low-income backgrounds. Sharing similar experiences, alumni hear from Yale students about their career interests as well as describe their own career journeys.
After a brief welcome, students and alumni went into breakout rooms for small group discussion based on career fields including arts & architecture, business, communications, computer science & engineering, consulting, education, environment, finance, law & social justice, health care, and nonprofits & public service.
The program was co-sponsored by the Yale Latino Alumni Network (YLAN) and the Yale First-Gen and/or Low-income Advocacy Movement (YFAM).
