Give financial support to FGLI students

Did you know:
► 21% of first-year Yale College students qualified for federal Pell Grants for low-income students (300+ qualified) — nearly double the number in the entering class six years ago.
► 19% of the Class of 2024 will be the first in their families to graduate from a four-year college — a 75% increase in the class which matriculated in 2014.
► 1 out of 6 Yale College students self-identity as first-generation and/or low-income.

It would be wonderful if you could make a gift to support Yale students who experience an emergency or unexpected financial hardship. Now you can support students directly in ways not covered by tuition, room and board, and financial aid. Yale students find this financial support at Yale Safety Net and Office of Career Strategy fellowships and travel reimbursement. Support includes:

  • Emergency travel home and other unexpected needs
  • Winter clothing – coats, gloves, hats, and boots
  • Career Closet professional interview clothes
  • Yale College domestic summer awards to support non-profit and public service internships
  • Travel reimbursement for job interviews
  • On-going programming and new projects
