Is a Career in Public Health Right for Me? 2024

For the second year in a row, 1stGenYale and the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) co-sponsored an event for students exploring a public health career. Around 20 students — undergraduates and grad and professional students alike — heard from student, faculty, and alumni subject matter experts, including Jackson Higginbottom ’20 MPH, who shared their personal experiences and career advice. The discussion was moderated by Mayur Desai, PhD, MPH, professor of epidemiology and associate dean for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and the director of the Advanced Professional MPH Program. Annie Freedman ’78 MPH & MHA organized the event.

For students who could not attend: If the notion of a career in public health intrigues you and you want to learn more about the opportunities available at the Yale School of Public Health, reach out to Mary Keefe, director of the YSPH admissions office (Mary.Keefe@Yale.edu).
