Yale Day of Service with Y Tu También

Over 70 high school students from all five NYC boroughs packed a studio in Manhattan to hear Yale alums share their stories and answer questions about getting into and succeeding in college. Questions included “How do I select a major?”, “How does financial aid work?”, “How do I balance what I want to study with what my parents want me to do?”, “What makes a strong leader?”, “How do I learn to network?”, “What do you need to do to be happy in a career?” — and many more.

Juan Carlos Johnny Salinas ’03 MFA and Lise Chapman ’81 MBA created the Yale Day of Service event, and the panelists included 1stGenYale board member Grace Kim ’22, and several other 1stGenYale volunteers. The Yale Latino Alumni Network co-hosted the event.
