The historical lack of diversity in STEM fields continues to affect many aspects of college and career, from students’ academic decisions to workplace dynamics. The First-Generation, Low-Income Community Initiative held a conversation with students, faculty, and alumni about diversity (or the lack thereof) in STEM fields. Individuals of all identities (not just FGLI students) were invited to discuss the difficulties, but also to share their stories and solutions and to learn from each other. The event was co-sponsored by the First-Generation, Low-Income Community Initiative and 1stGenYale.
